.Today.

Today might be the most special day of the year to me.  Today, I get to honor the two most important people in my life; my husband and my child.

Happy first birthday my sweet, hilarious, curious, loving little girl.  You've given me a greater sense of strength and unconditional love like I've never known.

Happy father's day G.  This time last year I relied on you like never before.  In the scariest moment of my life, you were who I looked to for comfort, some sense of normalcy in the chaos.

You guys make this tough life worth living.

I love you both always.

P.S. A little film to commemorate.

.Blog Birthday.

I've been so caught up in life that I didn't even realize that my blog birthday had passed me by. It's now been one year that I've been able to document and share our life with you readers, and what a year it's been.  I've enjoyed every minute of blogging and the process has been therapeutic for me, as well as a way to hold me accountable to slow down, learn, and enjoy the little things about life, when all I want to do is stress and try to control the big things.  I've met sweet and fascinating people through the blogging community and I think others in my life have gotten to know me better through my writing.

Thank you for being interested in my little corner of the internet and I look forward to seeing where we'll be next year!

.Day for Mamas.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, soon-to-be mothers, and mother figures.  It's an anything but easy job, but I've heard how fulfilling and indescribably life changing it is.  Especially happy Mother's Day to my own mama... our biggest fan... especially when we don't deserve it.

I cannot wait to spend my first mother's day with baby girl next year.

.Brother Birthday.

Happy 19th birthday little brother
I feel old again.

Since you're on the road to being a famous musician I thought I'd remind you where you started because one day when you're featured on Behind the Music, they'll post these adorable pictures of you.  Remember that I love you always... even when you drive me crazy... and that I'm always in your corner... even when I'm tough on you... it's only because I expect no less than incredible things from you.  God had his own perfect intentions when creating you and I cannot wait to be on the front row applauding whatever unbelievable accomplishment it turns out to be.

.Best Friend Birthday.

Although you've been swept away to Hawaii, I like to remember things about our time together.  I remember when you copied my Psych notes.  I remember when you didn't remember who I was the next time we met.  I remember adventures in living together.  I remember crazy ladies at Blockbuster that attacked our car.  I remember when we camped out in front of the Admin Building to be able to go to England and Scotland and both got sick because it decided to snow that night.  I remember dressing up, alot with you.  I remember all that was Sigma.  I remember how distracted we could get from homework because we would laugh for hours on our bed over nothing.  I remember Rob & Big (may those fish rest in peace).  I remember inductions.  I remember our private book clubs.  I remember our 18 days in Europe.  I remember when you didn't know how to curl your hair.  I remember when you were a bridesmaid in my wedding.  Mostly I remember what a phenomenal best friend you've been for the last several years... even when you're 5,504 miles away {you know I googled it}.

Happy 25th birthday my dear friend.

.Thanksgiving Feasting.

When the Halloween pumpkins are gone,
And the leaves have all fallen to ground,
When the air has turned windy and cold,
Then Thanksgiving will soon be around.
Thoughts of loved ones all feasting together,
Pleasant pictures from past times appear
To dwell in each heart and each mind--
Then Thanksgiving is finally here!
The kitchen has scrumptious aromas,
The dining room looks oh, so fine,
Decorations with pilgrims and turkeys,
And now we are ready to dine!
First the napkins are placed on our laps;
Now the prayer for the meal to be blessed,
Then we stuff the good food in our tummies,
And we hope for it all to digest!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We're spending the holiday weekend here with G's family doing nothing but enjoying time together, watching the parade, eating, antique shopping, watching the Iron Bowl, and school work napping. I hope all of your Thanksgivings are spent well with wonderful people.  Here are a few pictures from last Thanksgiving weekend; funny how much has happened in just a year.
