.Our little yogurt shoppe.

Just a few pictures from the ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Freeze Frame.  It's been a long (and tough) road, but we've already met some of the coolest and nicest people here in town.  Now, I do miss my husband terribly as he spends long hours getting things to run smoothly aside from his day job, but I am also so happy to see a dream of his come true.

.Reality Check.

This week was a reality check for me about having it all.  Between work, school, and baby, it felt like I was working three jobs and wasting entirely too much time shuttling between them.  I missed my little family. I was stressed. I was exhausted.  This made me appreciate thoughtful acts from G throughout the week even more.  Coming home to a delicious meal inspired by Pinterest was just what the doctor ordered.  The weekend to recuperate from the week's events? An added treat.

Now if I can just get G to whip me up some of these... well I'd just be in food heaven.

.Dear Lovely Husband.

I am loving this quality time we've been spending together recently.  School obviously gets in the way of everything.  Our dance parties and sing-a-thongs are amazing, even though I'm limited in my moves right now.  Beating you at chess is always awesome too.  Earlier in the week you asked alot of questions during the scary movie, but that's okay.  You also had me waiting a really long time for pizza since you forgot your wallet, but I was appreciative anyway.  If you want to keep surprising me with chores done and dinners made I'm also alright with that.  Thank you for trying to be understanding these past few weeks during my, ahem... moods.  Normal me will hopefully return back soon.  Well let's be honest... as "normal" as is possible for me.

You're my best friend... and not too shabby on the eyes either.
Can't wait to continue the fun with you this weekend!

.Brother Birthday.

Happy 19th birthday little brother
I feel old again.

Since you're on the road to being a famous musician I thought I'd remind you where you started because one day when you're featured on Behind the Music, they'll post these adorable pictures of you.  Remember that I love you always... even when you drive me crazy... and that I'm always in your corner... even when I'm tough on you... it's only because I expect no less than incredible things from you.  God had his own perfect intentions when creating you and I cannot wait to be on the front row applauding whatever unbelievable accomplishment it turns out to be.

.A Day in History.

Today is G's 25th birthday!

It's the little things that make me appreciate the time he's been in my life.  Like that he still opens the car door for me after seven years.  That he grabs my hand to hold spontaneously.  That he goes and fills up my car with gas so I don't have to {just like my dad used to do}.  That he'll sit through any award show with me including my commentary throughout.  That he celebrates anniversaries and Valentine's Day.  That he likes to cook together. That he likes my opinion on his wardrobe.  That he understands the need for a little adventure.  That he'll download an entire album and surprise me if I mention in passing loving a song.  That he'll let me warm my ice cube toes on his always warm feet with no complaints.  That he gets ready in the dark just so I can get that extra hour of uninterrupted sleep.  That he is willing to haggle and deal because I won't.  That he understands (mostly) and doesn't complain (usually) about how long it takes me to get ready.  That he appreciates documenting memories as much as I do.  That he understands needing a random two-person dance party in the living room after a long day.  That he's tolerant when I want to share girly fashion ideas/opinions/thoughts with him.  That I can have philosophical discussions with him about religion and beliefs after church services.  Most of all that he puts up with my daily crazy and all he asks for in return is the occasional back rub and head massage.

Happy birthday G, I'm so grateful for your existence.
Baby girl Tyler will be too.

.Music Is Art.

My younger brother Alex, is a musician.  A very good artist in my opinion, though I may be a little biased.  While I had to take piano classes for six years to be relatively decent, Alex taught himself how to play the piano, drums, and guitar for fun before puberty.  It's blatantly clear which one of us got the creative genes.  It's hard to believe how driven he is for an 18 year old, or how far he's come in his craft over the years.  I'm always filled with pride when I hear him doing what he loves.  Although we're six years apart and it's sometimes easier for me to take the role of second mom to him than older sister, we couldn't be closer.  I can't wait to see the good that he's going to do with his music and the people he's going to touch.  You'll hear me brag about him much more in the future, but you can get a brief introduction to his works here, here, here, and here.

* None of these pictures were taken by me.  All the awesomeness was borrowed from his facebook page.
